Communicating about Student Concerns
At this week's Grade Level Team meetings, there was some discussion about ensuring that parents are kept in the loop about student progress (or lack of progress). After April 14, we'll start a conversation about how we train students and parents on use of the portal and protocols for communicating concern. For now, please maintain the following:
- If a student earns a failing grade for a major assessment or exhibits a pattern of low grades on minor assessments, please notify the student's Advisor AND add that student to the Grade Level Team's agenda.
- If a student's overall grade in a course falls below a C, please notify the student's Advisor and Parents.
- If a student's overall grade falls into the failing range, please notify the student's Advisor and me to discern if the student needs to be pulled from Athletics or extracurriculars, AND notify the student's Parents.
Chapel
Just a reminder: upcoming MS Chapels will be led by the following Advisory groups:
- April 5: Paco/Flores
- April 26 Strate
- May 10: Hartmann/Finch
- May 17: Hunt
- May 31: Taylor
If your group needs a different date, there is a little bit of flexibility (April 12 is open; Service Learning Chapels on April 19 and May 24 could swap). For details about awareness months or holidays, see the MS tab or the Cultural & Religious Observances tab on Chapel Planning 2016-2017.
